Contracts in Excess of $50,000

Contracts may be signed only by those who have been delegated authority to do so by the Chancellor. Contracts in excess of $50,000 must be reviewed and signed only by the limited number of University officers specifically designated in the Chancellor's current signing authority letter to the Board of Regents. Affiliation agreements likewise may be signed only by those University officers delegated in writing by the Chancellor. Download a copy of the most current signing authority for the University. Contracts Under $50,000

The authority to sign contracts under $50,000 is generally inherent in top-level University positions including Vice Chancellor, Vice Provost, Associate VP, Dean, Director or Chair, unless otherwise specified by policy or written authorization. The authority to sign contracts under $50,000 may be further delegated by such officials but should only be done after careful consideration. Such delegation must be in writing.  Review the Contract Review and Signature Authority policy for further guidance.
