Legal Clerkship

The Office of the General Counsel routinely offers internship or clerking opportunities for second year or third year (2L or 3L) students in good standing at the KU School of Law.

Clerking positions are hourly and typically require few hours per pay period. Clerking for the Office of the General Counsel is not incompatible with other simultaneous part-time employment. The law clerk typically receives legal research or other legal work assignments from the university attorneys, along with reasonable deadlines for completion. Law clerks work independently, and often remotely, performing legal research or reviewing routine contracts and completing other legal projects within the office.
